The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Navarro College Cook Center Planetarium, 3100 W. Collin Street, Corsicana, TX 75110. The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements for Interstate 45 (IH 45) from North Business 45 to South of Farm to Market Road 246 (FM 246) in Navarro County and to receive public comment. Displays will be available for viewing at 5:00pm with the formal hearing commencing at 7:00pm.
The existing facility consists of two travel lanes in each direction with 10-foot wide outside shoulders, four-foot wide inside shoulders and a variable-width center median. The existing right-of-way width (ROW) varies from 300 to 400 feet. The proposed project would widen this section of IH 45 from four to six lanes with 10-foot wide outside shoulders, variable-width inside shoulders and a concrete traffic barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes. The ROW would remain the same. The
purpose of the proposed project is to upgrade the existing IH 45 facility within the project area as part of a state-wide effort to provide six lanes on IH 45 from Dallas to the Houston/Galveston area. No ROW acquisition, easements, business displacements or modifications to access will be included in this project. The proposed project would traverse the 100-year floodplain.
