CSJs: 0135-03-046, 0135-04-033
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public meeting for the purpose of soliciting comments on proposed improvements to US 380 from Airport Drive to CR 458 in Collin County, Texas, a distance of approximately 7 miles. The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Princeton High School Cafeteria, located at 1000 E. Princeton Drive, Princeton, TX 75407. Representatives from TxDOT and project consultants will be available to answer questions about the proposed project. The meeting will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation.
The existing US 380 facility consists of two 11-foot lanes in each direction with 15-foot raised median, 12-foot left turn lanes, and 10-foot outside shoulders. The existing right-of-way (ROW) width varies from 60 feet to 90 feet wide. The US 380 proposed improvements would include widening the current four-lane roadway facility to a six-lane divided urban facility with a raised median and new curb and gutters. No additional right-of-way is anticipated at this time.
The proposed facility would be 7.2 miles long and would consist of two 12-foot wide travel lanes and one 14-foot shared-use travel lane in each direction with two-foot offsets from the inside and outside curbs and a 5-foot sidewalk along each side of the facility. Right turn lanes (12-foot wide) would be provided as warranted by traffic analysis. The facility consists of three bridges that would be widened to two 12-foot travel lanes and one 14-foot travel lane in each direction with raised median that varies from 5-foot to 14-foot, 10-foot outside shoulder in each direction, 6-foot sidewalk in each direction separated from travel lanes by concrete traffic barrier and containing pedestrian rail on outside.
