IH 20 Frontage Road Improvement Project, Dallas and Kaufman Counties - Draft EA Available for Public Review and Public Hearing

Purpose:

The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and solicit public comments on the proposed IH 20 frontage roads improvements in Dallas and Kaufman Counties, Texas. Displays will be available for viewing at 6 p.m with the formal hearing starting at 7 p.m. Comments must be received on or before Friday, December 6, 2019, to be a part of the official record.

Description:

The proposed project is located along IH 20 from Lawson Road in Dallas County to east of CR 138 (Wilson Road) in Kaufman County, a total length of approximately 20.39 miles. The project would consists of the construction of contiguous one-way frontage roads within the project limits, reconfiguring ramps from a “diamond” configuration to an “X” configuration at each interchange, and adding auxiliary lanes on the mainlanes. The proposed project would require approximately 85.9 acres of new right-of-way and 3.8 acre of permanent drainage easements.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
