Notice of Draft Environmental Assessment and Public Hearing for FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to FM 664 in Ellis County

Where and When:

A virtual public hearing will be held at https://www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/fm-roads/fm1387.

The virtual hearing is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024.

An in-person public hearing will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a live presentation at 6 p.m. at Longbranch Community Baptist Church, 200 Longbranch Road, Midlothian, TX  76065.  

Materials presented at the virtual public hearing and in-person public hearing will be identical.

All comments must be received on or before September 6, 2024.

Description:

The proposed project consists of the reconstruction, realigning and widening of FM 1387 from North Midlothian Parkway to FM 664, approximately 5.8 miles.  Improvements would include the expansion of the existing two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway (ultimate six-lanes) and a shared-use path and sidewalk for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The virtual public hearing and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
