Notice of Public Meeting for SL 288 from east of I-35 to east of Geesling Road on US 380 in Denton County

Where and When:
A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/state-highways/SL288East. The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on June 28, 2024.
An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience. The in-person meeting will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 starting at 5 p.m. at Denton High School, 3001 Bronco Way, Denton, TX 76207.
Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meeting will be identical.
All comments must be postmarked or received by June 28, 2024.
Description:
The proposed improvements include reconstructing and widening the SL 288 mainlanes from four to six lanes and constructing frontage roads. The proposed improvements also include the construction of new U-turns at Kings Road, as well as adding mainlanes, frontage roads and grade separated intersections between SL 288 and US 380. A 10-foot shared use path will be added on the north and south sides of the project.

Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
